As time passes, the gap increases with those explorers who stepped before us.
With our world today; fast pace, digital communications and busy schedules, many don’t make the time to connect to nature, journey into the depths of the mountains.
Back in time, before the turn of the century, explorers made the first steps onto many of the Canadian Rocky Mountain summits. Currently, we have lightweight, warm gear and easy access to help set us up for success on those climbs which would have taken days, if not weeks, for the early explorers. It’s easy to skip that appreciation, as our challenges are relative to what we know. Do we actually walk away with the level of experience and depth the pioneers did? It is a level of exploration today, but to look into the eyes of the wise, you will see a different story.
Just recently, our amazing film cast and crew worked hard for six long days to help capture and create one of these great stories. We are currently in post production of the short film (working title “Weathered Hands”) set for festival release, 2014.
